A large flemish earthenware pedestal jardiniere by laigneil, kortijk belgium 1900s.
Influences of art nouveau, folk art, arts & crafts, naturalism.
Executed in flemish earthenware decorated with a sgraffito technique, shades blue brown and green glazing. Very natural colors.
On the cache-pot a scene of farmers and nuns, and trees all around.
The pedestal decorated with tall trees and castles, a river below and layers of sky / clouds / forest.
Condition report: Very good condition, no major defects or cracks. May show normal signs of wear consistent with age and use.
