  • Conical purple vase model 1404 or SH105. Designed by Saara Hopea for Nuutajarvi Finland. Exact model in collection of the British Museum: https://www.britishmuseum.org/collection/object/H_2014-8024-169-a-c The glass village of Nuutajarvi was founded in 1793 by Jacob Wilhelm de Pont and Harald Furnhjelm. The location was perfect because of the forest resources, as firing the glass required a lot of firewood. Among the many glass factories of its time, Nuutajarvi still stands out from the others.
